Bridal Beauty Tips
Every bride deserves to be the very special lady of the day and look her best. The hairdo, the makeup, the bridal trousseau and how the bride conducts herself is the focus of everybody’s attention on this day and you will certainly feel much more comfortable. Here are some useful tips for the bride:
Have an emergency beauty kit: This should include: bobby pins, hair spray, blotting papers, fashion tape, nail file, clear nail polish and mints.
Wear Sunblock: This is especially important if your wedding is outdoors, or if you plan to spend a significant amount of time taking pictures outside.
Test Beauty products: Make sure you test out beauty products several times – you wouldn’t want to find out the morning of your wedding that you’re allergic!
Do a test run: If you plan to have your hair and makeup done professionally, schedule a trial hair and makeup session prior to your wedding day. Don’t be convinced to look like anything or anyone that’s not you and doesn’t make you feel comfortable.
Wax in advance: Avoid having to deal with skin irritation, redness and swelling by scheduling any eyebrow or facial waxing appointments a week before the wedding.
Tan with caution: Don’t overdo your tanning session or self tanner, otherwise you may end up with a sunburn or Oompa Loompa (creepy) skin on your wedding day. Also, keep in mind that a white dress will reflect light, making you appear darker than you anticipated. Take it easy on the tanning, and instead add some color to your skin with bronzer.
Use waterproof eye makeup. Most brides cry at their weddings. Even if you don’t think you’re the crying type, with so many waterproof products out there, why take a chance?
Consider the time of day: If yours is a daytime wedding, make sure your makeup compliments the time of day. Keep your look naturally beautiful and save the dramatic makeup for nighttime weddings.
Don’t get washed out: Avoid looking washed out in pictures by using just enough blush and a lip color that helps to bring out your lips (skip nude or brown shades).
Use natural light to apply makeup: You can see and correct any little imperfections using natural light. This also will guarantee that your makeup will look great if you are having an outdoor wedding or taking photographs outside.
Blend and be even: Be sure to keep your makeup well blended and flawless, as cameras can capture noticeable makeup lines. Also, avoid too much contrast between your face and the rest of your body. If needed, use a bronzer on your neck and chest to even things up.
Fight those zits: The best solution for getting rid of zits is to just leave them alone and allow them to heal naturally. Squeezing and picking at zits can cause further irritation and make them more noticeable. If you’re on a a time crunch, you can see your dermatologist about getting a cortisone injection that will shrink that annoying pimple immediately.
Relax! A relaxed bride is a beautiful bride. A wedding succeeds as long as you end up married at the end of the day. Every thing else is just gravy.
Keep these tips in mind once your ‘big day’ approaches. The key is to accentuate your natural beauty and be comfortable and happy with the way you look.
